As many people know San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) is right around the corner. Next weekend flocks of people will be heading to the San Diego Convention Center to walk around in costume, see stars from their favorite shows, and sit in on some awesome panels. But some of the perks of going are exclusive toys and collectables. As always LEGO fans get their change to join in and get some exclusive minifigures and sets.

I can remember the first LEGO exclusive back in 2008 for Indiana Jones. It was a very basic set showing Indiana Jones in a jeep stuck in the mud being chased by indigenous people. I thought it was cool! Then I found out that only way you could get it was going to SDCC. Some parts I could get on Bricklink, others I couldn't. So I either bought it second hand at four times the price or like so many of us, missed out.

Over the years there have been many sets, some Star Wars, some comic book related builds, and above all, minifigures. I was a huge fan of The LEGO Movie and wanted so badly to have ALL the minifigures. Then there was a SDCC Unikitty, but NOW it doesn't sell for anything less than $150!

Sometimes we outsiders not going to SDCC get luck. THIS year exclusive sets are pretty easy to Bricklink the parts out. From Antman and the Wasp, Aquaman, and Solo there are a few sets to choose from. I'm a big fan of the cockpit from the millennium falcon. The only think you'd be missing out on are the unique VHS style boxes with comic book style artwork. Then the exclusive figures of Sheriff Deadpool and Black Lightning. So much detail put in those figures and hilarious they created the Sheriff Deadpool just like in the trailer for Deadpool 2. But those that do go to SDCC will either keep it as an avoid LEGO fan and collector, OR sell it at a huge markup to those of use that do what it.
As the demand for these sets go up, LEGO fans will be paying for it. But having a 50/50 of getting to still build the sets from Bricklink and having exclusive figures still brings the allure to those of us that just can't get enough LEGOs!
