From uncharted regions of the Universe, Comes a Legend...

The legend of Voltron defender of the Universe!

LEGO has been full of surprises these past few days. Today’s gift to LEGO Fans was the final design of set 21311 Voltron created by Lendy Tayag through LEGO Ideas. This design is from the classic 1984 series instead of Netflix’s Voltron Legendary Defender.

It is an impressive model standing at 15 inches tall and 8 inches wide when constructed. But it isn’t a single model, it comes with the 5 mini lion-bots too! Which now it will be hard to consider how to display it, probably need to buy two just to be sure. May even need a space backdrop built… Anyway! It also comes with the Voltron’s sword and shield to attach in the mouths of lion-bot 1 (green) and 2 (red) made into his arms. Complete the model with the main body lion-bot 3 (red) and legs lion-bots 4 (blue) and 5 (yellow).

With a piece count of 2,321 it’s an impressive size. At the price point of $179.99 rounds out to about ~8 cents/piece is a good deal considering most sets are priced around 10 cents/piece. Idea sets have always been good at promoting cheaper prices in the hopes that everyone can have their hands a true fan created LEGO set.

It will be out August 1st but if you are planning to go to San Diego Comic Con they will have a limited number for sale and you’ll get to see it first hand before anyone else, giving you that extra encouragement to nerd out and plan that purchase. You can check out further details and photos over at LEGO.
