After many months of rumors and waiting, LEGO opened the clocktower gate at Hogwarts to reveal the collectible minifigure series that many of us have been waiting for! Since the reveal of the 75954: Hogwarts Great Hall rumors have swirled that there would be a collectible minifigure series sometime this summer. It was a major surprise to have LEGO reveal this series this morning, but a welcomed one!
The Wizarding World Collectible Minifigure Series is classified as Series 1, hopefully indicative of future series in the works. I personally was grateful for the return of Harry Potter sets along side the Fantastic Beasts franchise. I collected almost all of them back in the day (missed out on 4768: The Durmstrang Ship, 4840: The Burrow, and 10217: Diagon Alley). These additions of classic scenes and new sets for the upcoming film Fantastic Beast - The Crimes of Grindelwald will surely help promote sales! It was also great to have them displayed in Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts castle model at the Warner Brothers Studio in Leavesden (Maybe hints of the future UCS Castle, to be discussed later!).
The series contains 22 figures, 16 figures from the Harry Potter story and 6 from the first Fantastic Beasts film. I will post all the photos officially released from LEGO’s Twitter below. I have added the names of the characters I believe represent each figure (I’m 99% certain of them but one is questionable.) Some things to note, some of the figures are teen minifigures, the legs aren’t full size but still bend! Tons of great detail in the prints as well.
